The Challenge

The brand's story — real food, traceable sourcing — was the reason customers converted, but the legacy storefront treated content and commerce as separate worlds. Pages were slow, subscription sign-up was buried, and editorial content did not lead anywhere purchasable.

The Solution

We rebuilt the storefront as a headless React experience on Hydrogen, merging editorial narrative with product merchandising and putting subscription options directly into the buying decision rather than after it.

Key Outcomes

What We Built

01

Headless storefront

A Hydrogen and React frontend on Shopify Plus, with rendering and caching tuned for a 1.6s page load.

02

Editorial commerce templates

Story-led pages where sourcing and science content sit inline with add-to-cart, so reading and buying are the same flow.

03

Subscription experience

Recharge-powered subscribe-and-save presented at the point of choice, with clear cadence, savings and management controls.

04

Performance system

Image pipeline, critical-path CSS and route-level prefetching applied as a repeatable standard across templates.

Impact

Faster pages and clearer subscription framing produced a 31% conversion increase and a 47% lift in subscriptions — moving the business toward predictable recurring revenue.
